This sound composition was inspired by the frequency research of Royal Raymond Rife. Its main components included frequency modulation and field recordings from the original sites of Rife’s laboratories. It was presented at Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions (2012) accompanied by the performance of France Jobin’s Variance. The concert venue was set up inside the exhibition of Steve Roden’s Shells, Bells, Steps and Silences, the exhibition and the concert were both curated by Robert Takahashi Novak. The video was filmed and edited by Cindy Yeh in 2012. The performance and the preliminary research on Rife’s instruments were realized with the support of an Independent Project Grant provided by CEC ArtsLink.
